Rose Mary Dougherty, SSND and Vivian Feintech converse about spiritual direction, prayer, and being present.
In good company
A spiritual director is a skilled and experienced individual with whom you can speak confidentially. S(he) is professionally trained and participates in ongoing training and supervision to ensure high standards of practice.
Spiritual direction sessions tend to last for 30 or 60 minutes. Some directors will need a small fee or donation; others can offer their time freely. The first session is for you to chat about your needs and to find out about your director. If you decide to continue, you will have another 3 or 4 sessions after which you both look at how things are going and if you want to stop or continue with spiritual direction. It is important that you are comfortable with the arrangement and with the director you choose. Download info leafet here

Nearness is the kind of book friends are passing around, talking about, praying with....
....and groups are using to be with Jesus of the gospels in ways they could not have imagined possible.
What started as a small project to respond to the desires of parishioners in Northern Ireland to grow in relationship with God, has grown in appeal. It is reaching out to Christians of all traditions, providing reassurance and inspiration for personal prayer and material for group reflection.
The first edition is sold out. A new and revised edition is available on Kindle. We've trying it out for a while before going to print again. Why not download it from Amazon. You try it for yourself. I'd love to hear from you about your experience of praying with it.
